This includes but is not limited to groups and collectives working in visual and media arts, performance art, publishing, contemporary craft and architecture. ARCs are defined through their community and actions and have been built over multiple generations of arts advocacy since the 1960s. ARCs are key arts and culture providers, each providing unique and significant artistic benefits to their communities. Each ARC has its own mandate and cultural identity, responding to their community\u2019s needs through programming and artistic actions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As our primary public engagement activity, ARCA co-produces biennial conferences that bring together hundreds of arts representatives from across Canada and beyond. Since 2005, ARCA\u2019s work has been to connect the arts across Canada, supporting our members in navigating organizational structures, providing professional development, and networking opportunities, as well as raising awareness of the value of artist-run centres and the arts. ARCA is the key arts service organization that bridges communication between these 180+ organizations as the provider of sectoral growth across great distances. As the arts emerge from the COVID19 pandemic ARCA assesses collective needs, provides training, and reimagines ongoing operations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Description<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Programming Coordinator will plan, support, implement, and oversee a variety of duties ensuring that ARCA\u2019s programming remains active, relevant, and engaging to artist-run centres. Working with and reporting to the Executive Director, this position works with ARCA as a team to manage organizational outreach, programmed arts activations, and many aspects of ongoing operations. With the ARCA conference as the primary action to plan and implement through partnerships and collaboration, the Programming Coordinator is responsible for, but not limited to the following responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Program Ideation<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i>Work with partnering communities and organizations to establish programming maintaining healthy working environments and responding to current discourses.<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Create event programming that is consistent with ARCA\u2019s mission and reflects the needs of our membership including past, present, and future ARCs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Curatorial or artistic research to understand relationships between programming outcomes and artists involved in planned events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for negotiating deals, artist fees, ticket prices, discounts, engagement expenses, and merchandising arrangements for all programming plans including fundraising events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Program Management<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i>Responsible for the successful coordination of all programming at ARCA<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Aid with the implementation of all programming including tracking timelines, budgets, schedules, performance measurements and deliverables, and providing detailed reports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain a volume of logistical relationships including scheduling, time management, contract writing and negotiation, forming venue and equipment rental agreements, overseeing publications and promotional printing, project budgeting, marketing &amp; communications, as well as event travel coordination<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Strategize with ARCA staff and board to develop revenue streams, membership plans, marketing budgets, promotional strategies, and outreach efforts to ensure fiscal year budget goals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Stakeholder &amp; Community Relations<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i>Develop relationships with existing artist-run centres, community-based organizations, festivals, external booking agents\/presenters\/promoters, local\/national\/international artists, event programmers, and arts service organizations to seek ways to engage the community and maintain healthy relationships between ARCA and the larger arts sector<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Requirements<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>Experience<\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i>Degree in communications, business, arts administration, or equivalent experience<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Thorough understanding and event preparation; contracts, budgeting &amp; scheduling.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience applying social justice, Indigenous, anti-oppressive, and accessible values and practices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>5+ years of programming experience and\/or management experience in contemporary and\/or community arts in disciplines such as visual arts, media arts, performance arts, and all forms of multi-arts, including publishing, and festival and\/or special event sectors is an asset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i>Skills &amp; Assets<\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i>Exceptional interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>French\/English bilingual written and verbal communication is an asset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to establish and maintain effective and positive working relationships with volunteers, staff, members of the community and other organizational stakeholders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrated creativity, flexibility, and comfort in working with many communities and diverse populations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability and desire to work with groups, artists, and mentors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Solutions and detail-oriented individual with a high degree of professionalism<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and deadlines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Approachable, personable, and a team-oriented collaborator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Fast-paced, independent worker<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Seeks challenges and creatively approaches them<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Passionate about the cultural sector<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of the contemporary arts world<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficient in Microsoft Apps, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Rights<\/b><\/p>\n<p>ARCA is an equal opportunity employer with a commitment to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
