{"id":3043,"date":"2020-06-24T18:18:39","date_gmt":"2020-06-24T18:18:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.arca.art\/en\/?p=3043"},"modified":"2020-07-16T19:17:39","modified_gmt":"2020-07-16T19:17:39","slug":"call-for-applications-executive-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.arca.art\/en\/press-releases\/call-for-applications-executive-director\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Applications: Executive Director"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Artist-Run Centres and Collectives Conference (<strong>ARCA<\/strong>) is seeking applicants for the position of: <strong>Executive Director <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application deadline: <\/strong><strong>July 14, 2020\u00a0 *<\/strong>The call is now closed &#8211; Thank you for your interest!*<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Established in 2004,<strong> ARCA<\/strong> represents some 180 artist-run centres and collectives across Canada, working directly with the nine associations of artist-run centres and affiliates that form its membership. <strong>ARCA<\/strong> works to connect and support the national artist-run community and advocates on its behalf on issues of common concern.<\/p>\n<p>The ideal candidate is independently motivated and brings an in-depth knowledge of the cultural and political issues relevant to the Canadian artist-run milieu. The candidate has experience in the successful management of a not-for-profit organization, is particularly good at interpersonal relations, consensus building, and negotiation, and is committed to gender equity and anti-racism. The candidate is flexible and comfortable managing several files simultaneously. The candidate excels in communications, in both official languages.<\/p>\n<p>Reporting to, and working in close collaboration with ARCA\u2019s Board of Directors, the responsibilities of the Executive Director include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Directing the organization and supervising all of ARCA\u2019s activities, in continual dialogue with its members;<\/li>\n<li>Acting as the organization\u2019s spokesperson, representing the organization to stakeholders and beneficiaries, drafting media releases and other communication tools;<\/li>\n<li>Working alongside the board of directors to determine the organization\u2019s strategic priorities and action plan, and supervising their implementation;<\/li>\n<li>Participating in the organization\u2019s meetings, and preparing and delivering reports to the Board on the organization\u2019s activities and finances;<\/li>\n<li>Identifying and preparing grant applications to government, para governmental, private, and other partners with an emphasis on diversifying revenue sources for ARCA\u2019s long-term sustainability, and preparing and submitting subsequent grant reports as required;<\/li>\n<li>Working with the Board treasurer, preparing annual and quarterly budgets; supervising production of the annual financial report, and ensuring fulfillment of other legal obligations of the organization;<\/li>\n<li>Planning, producing, and supervising the production of research and other specialized resources for the benefit of the membership; and<\/li>\n<li>Planning biennial national conferences in partnership with the host region (conference planned in 2020 was postponed and will be delivered in 2021), and planning regional or community meetings in partnership with ad hoc initiatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is a full-time position averaging 35 hours\/week.<br \/>\nBase salary is set at $42,000<br \/>\nPlace of work to be determined.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application deadline: <\/strong><strong>July 14, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please submit your letter of interest (two pages maximum), with resume and references, to the hiring committee via email: <u>cv@arc<\/u>a.art<br \/>\nMore information about ARCA can be found at www.arca.art.<br \/>\nOnly shortlisted candidates selected for an interview will be notified.
