Montreal, August 31st, 2017 \u2014 <\/strong>ARCA\u2019s Annual Members\u2019 Meeting will be held on Saturday September 23, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Florence Simmons Performance Hall, 140 Weymouth Street, Charlottetown, PEI.<\/p>\n

The Artist-Run Centres and Collectives Conference (ARCA) is pleased to invite you to its annual members\u2019 meeting and plenary to take place September 23, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Charlottetown, PEI. This year\u2019s meeting will form part of Flotilla, the 2017 edition of our biennial national conference.<\/p>\n

As a member of ARCA, you play an important role in ensuring that your regional, provincial, or cultural artist-run association and its constituents are represented at the ARCA board level. As in the last two years, delegates from the nine associations will each choose a candidate, and elect the board as a slate, at the members\u2019 meeting. A list of delegates is included in the links below.<\/p>\n

The members\u2019 meeting and plenary is an opportunity for us to connect, ideally in person, and informs ARCA\u2019s priorities for the following year and beyond. As mentioned in a memo sent to the network last May, the introduction of the New Funding Model at the Canada Council for the Arts has meant that for the first time this year, ARCA could not apply for discretionary funding to contribute to delegate travel to PEI. Instead, we encouraged everyone to apply to the various travel components of the new programs.<\/p>\n

Because the new model is still untested, it\u2019s important that ARCA\u2019s board and members keep a record of funding results and thereby assess the impact of the NFM on our constituents. Have you applied for travel support from the Canada Council since May 2017? If yes, kindly inform your provincial representative of results, by writing to info@arca.art before the next ARCA board meeting on September 5, 2017.<\/p>\n
