{"id":183,"date":"2012-03-11T20:00:14","date_gmt":"2012-03-11T20:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.arca.art\/en\/?p=183"},"modified":"2016-06-09T22:09:34","modified_gmt":"2016-06-09T22:09:34","slug":"press-release-call-for-applicants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.arca.art\/en\/news\/press-release-call-for-applicants\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for applicants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Artist-Run Centres and Collectives Conference (ARCA), is seeking applicants to the position of:<\/p>\n<h2>Executive Director<\/h2>\n<p>Established in 2004, the <strong>Artist Run Centres and Collectives Conference (ARCA)<\/strong> is a confederation of regional and culturally-specific associations of artist-run centres. The organization operates by consensus and on issues of common concern. ARCA, by way of its member associations, represents approximately 170 artist-run centres and collectives across Canada.<\/p>\n<p>The ideal candidate is highly motivated with an in-depth knowledge of the Canadian artist-run milieu and strong experience in the management of a not-for-profit organization; she or he is well-informed of political issues affecting the arts in Canada and can count on a network of contacts in various organizations, among peers as well as funders; the candidate is exceptionally skilled at interpersonal relationships, consensus-building and negotiation; she or he is flexible and able to manage multiple tasks; the candidate excels in communications and is fluent in both official languages.<\/p>\n<p>Under direct authority of and in close collaboration with the Board of Directors, the responsibilities of the Executive Director include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establishing direction for the organization out of dialogue with member organizations and overseeing the totality of ARCA\u2019s activities;<\/li>\n<li>Acting as a spokesperson; representing the organization to members, the public, news media, partners and funders, and drafting press releases and communiqu\u00e9s on a regular basis;<\/li>\n<li>Working alongside the Board of Directors to determine strategic priorities and action plan, and supervising their realization;<\/li>\n<li>Preparing and participating in the organization\u2019s meetings; assisting the Board in its function; reporting on the progress of activities of the organization;<\/li>\n<li>Determining the need for human, financial and technical resources necessary to the functioning of ARCA, and ensuring and supervising its accomplishment;<\/li>\n<li>Preparing annual budgets in concert with the Board of Directors and ensuring follow up; supervising the production of the annual financial report;<\/li>\n<li>Identifying and planning grant applications to government agencies, private funders and partners, and ensuring execution and follow up;<\/li>\n<li>Producing and\/or supervising the production of requested reports and fulfil the legal obligations of the organization;<\/li>\n<li>Planning, producing and\/or supervising the production of documentation, information and communications tools of ARCA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is a part-time position, averaging <strong>approximately 28 hours \/ week<\/strong>.<br \/>\nSalary commensurate on experience and qualifications.<br \/>\nPlace of work to be determined.<br \/>\nA first face-to-face Board meeting is planned in mid-May 2012.<\/p>\n<h2>Deadline for application:<br \/>\nApril 23<sup>rd<\/sup>, 2012<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Please send in letter of interest (2 pages max.), resume and references to the hiring committee via email to <a href=\"mailto:cv@arccc-cccaa.org\">cv@arccc-cccaa.org<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Further information on the organization can be found at <a href=\"http:\/\/arca.art\/\">www.arccc-cccaa.org<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Only shortlisted candidates selected for an interview will be notified.
