On October 17th, members of the RCAAQ were convened to the launch of Bang! Centre d\u2019art actuel, located in Saguenay, Qu\u00e9bec. In attendance was Qu\u00e9bec culture Minister Maka Kotto who announced a $175,000 grant toward the renovation of Espace S\u00e9quence, one of the spaces dedicated to the presentation of current art practices as part of Bang! centre d\u2019art actuel. Also in attendance for the announcement was St\u00e9phane B\u00e9dard, MP for Chicoutimi, and President of the Treasury Board and Minister responsible for the Saguenay\u2013Lac-Saint-Jean region.<\/p>\n
Bang! is born out of two artist-run centres: S\u00e9quence and Espace Virtuel joining forces intended to offer a more strategic location for the production and presentation of art in the Saguenay\u2013Lac-Saint-Jean region. Now under the helm of Espace Virtuel\u2019s director S\u00e9bastien Harvey, Bang! supports artists who practice in both the visual and media arts from Qu\u00e9bec, Canada and abroad. It offers exhibition and production spaces as well as educational activities.
