A Preliminary Toolkit for Thinking about Space and Facilities

The Artist-Run Centres and Collectives Conference, in collaboration with Le Regroupement des centres d’artistes autogérés du Québec (RCAAQ) offered members of the RCAAQ a half-day workshop titled Thinking about Space and Facilities for Artist-Run on Friday February 28, 2014

The aim of this workshop, facilitated by artist-consultant Tim Dallett, was to introduce participants to a few preliminary questions on space security and needs and provide a better understanding of the requirements and processes involved in order to 1) better engage discussions at the board level, and 2) make informed decisions on whether or not to engage in a capital development adventure.

The “Questionnaire” and “Notes on Space” produced for the workshop are offered here under a Creative Commons licence (free to share, but with attribution and no derivative works) as a preliminary, rather than prescriptive toolkit in keeping with the ‘case by case’ reality of facilities undertakings.
