This includes but is not limited to groups and collectives working in visual and media arts, performance art, publishing, contemporary craft and architecture. ARCs are defined through their community and actions and have been built over multiple generations of arts advocacy since the 1960s. ARCs are key arts and culture providers, each providing unique and significant artistic benefits to their communities. Each ARC has its own mandate and cultural identity, responding to their community’s needs through programming and artistic actions.
As our primary public engagement activity, ARCA co-produces biennial conferences that bring together hundreds of arts representatives from across Canada and beyond.
