On Wednesday March 30, I attended the launch of I sign! – a campaign produced by SPiLL PROpagation, an organization bringing together artists from ASL (American Sign Language) and LSQ (Langue des Signes Québécoise) linguistic minorities, and working in all artistic disciplines.  Montréal, March 16, 2016 – Since 2000, the Canada Council for the Arts has presented the Governor General’s Awards in Visual and Media Arts to over 100 individuals nominated by peers for their achievements and contributions to Canadian contemporary art… many belong to the collectives at the root of the artist-run movement. Excerpted from ARCA’s 2014–15 Activity Report, this micropublication of 12 briefs will allow you to follow each subject individually while getting a holistic sense of ARCA’s activities as they are connected to current cultural events. A printed version will be distributed to participants of the plenary as part of the conference Artists at the Center: Moving from the Margins to Inclusion.

In the spirit of sharing knowledge, representatives of the nine regions are encouraged to produce regular reports on recent events, challenges, and projects that are of interest for the entire network of artist-run centres.
