ARCA is proud to once again play a role in activating the agenda of the 5th Biennial Canadian Summit of Art Performance Organizers taking place on the cusp of the Rencontre internationale d’art performance de Québec (RIAP) and the first edition of the Rassemblement Internations d’Art Performance Autochtone (RIAPA) in Wendake. With support from the Canada Council’s Digital Strategy Fund, ARCA has invited Hélène Brousseau, Artexte’s digital librarian, to conduct a workshop on the, at times, baffling topic of online dissemination of performance art documentation.
Also on the agenda, a presentation and discussion of key findings and Recommendations from the Assessing Professional Conditions for Performance Artists in Canada, prepared by Mariane Bourcheix-Laporte, and shared with Summit participants this August 2018. The discussion is intended to inform CARFAC’s performance fee schedule along with input from CARFAC’s members as part of the ongoing work to better understand evolving artistic practices and work conditions.
The weekend of September 15-16, following the Summit, is dedicated to Canadian and Indigenous performance practices. Visit the events’ websites for full program and schedule.
